TalkTalk FTTC Speeds

[link to this post]

I'm currently with Pulse8 and seeing single thread speeds that are only about 60% of the multi thread issues.

I'm currently on their 38 Mbps product and getting this sort of test profile:

I saw something similar on their 76 Mbps product, before I downgraded:

My understanding is that Pulse8 are just a TTB reseller, so interested to know whether these profiles are typical of TT FTTC speeds.

There is little point in me pushing Pulse8 if my profiles are typical of TT FTTC connections, so would appreciate you posting your your TT FTTC TBB speed test results.

Many thanks for your help.

I don't have any saved ones but in my old place both were equal on standard talktalk residential broadband. I've since closed that line down.

You often couldn't see two lines as they were literally on top of one another.

Yours does indicate slight congestion. Hard to say if that's the reseller not buying enough capacity from TT or a wider TT issue.

Pulse8 dont buy capacity from Talk Talk, you're on a Talk Talk Business connection directly. Only difference is P8 handle the customer service

Definitely not normal on TTB/TT and indicates congestion somewhere. This is what you should be seeing if on a TT 80/20 sync:

Much the same on TTB here earlier, better now.

I note that the upload was lower than expected where usually the download is the thing that drops under congestion. Find myself wondering if the issue isn't actually bandwidth but something else.

Did a bit of digging. Was this your TT connection?

Good to see that full speeds are achievable...or at least were. wink

Looks as though TTB struggles to deliver the rock solid single thread response that seems to be available on BTW connections. Good to see that some others are at least getting close to the ideal single thread response though.
