Can't register tbb, then it crashes

[link to this post]

Installed tbbMeter on my laptop (Win7Pro) no problem. Tried to install on desktop (XP SP3), had to install .NET 2, uninstalled tbbMeter, reinstalled, launched OK, but all attempts to register failed, first with empty error message, now with just a hang. Whether or not I try to register, it crashes after about 3 minutes. . .

The meter creates a log file that may contain something useful, can email that to andrew@thinkbroadband.com the file is called tbbmeter.log

I run in on an XP SP3 machine 24/7 with no problems.

Has anything been fixed for this problem as I have installed 0.9.8.4 on XP sp3 and it crashes after about 3 minutes saying it has encountered a problem and has to close.
.NET runtime reports events 1023, 1000, 1001 in the event log.
I had this problem when I tried the application about 2 years or so ago and gave up because I did not have time to look into it.

Re: Can't register tbb, then it crashes

[re: Anonymous] [link to this post]

Solution to problem

I tried to run tbbMeter on XP several times and each time sent the error report to MS. Eventually after a few days I got a solution from MS saying I needed to apply a fix to .NET 1.1 (I had 2.5 installed). I visited Windows update and found several .NET updates so I just selected them all and I now have .NET 3 & 3.5 installed and tbbMeter now runs ok.
