tbb not loading at start-up

tbb is supposed to load from the tray but about 1/3 of times it does not or it loads but does not 'read' the connection until I set it to default.
How can I 'persuade' it to load every time at start-up, please?

Reason is unexplained, suspect that when it is starting some parts of windows are not running, i.e. is a dependancy issue.

I have seen other software behave similarly occassionally too.

That sounds reasonable but after everything else has loaded (except tbb) I still cannot get it to load even then for some of the time. Odd.

That would be because it has loaded - see task manager, and code stops it running twice.

Kill tbbmeter.exe and it will run manually.

Alternatively - set the tbbLoaderService to manual and add a small batch file to desktop or startup folder with
net start tbbLoaderService in it.

This arrangement is down to not wanting to have to ask users for UAC elevation everytime the machine boots.

Hi

I am have similar problems on two different PCs, running W7 64 bit. The meter worked fine for years when I had XP.

NowTbb works fine when starting the PC from scratch. But I often log off, or put them into standby, and when I resume tbb meter does not work unless I manually start it.

I have tried making sure that tbb meter and the loader are in the start up folder, but it makes not difference, and the loader produces an error.

How can I get tbb meter to run at all times? { i do not understand the instructions given above- do I put them in the run command line, in the DOS??]

Any help gratefully received.

The loader is a windows service, hence error in the startup folder.

If the meter is not running from a command prompt do

net stop tbbloaderservice
followed by
1. Running tbbmeter.exe and elevating it, Run As Administrator
or
2. net start tbbloaderservice - there will be a 30 second pause in the meter starting if you start the loader service this way.

tried the first instruction in the command prompt but get "system error 5 has occurred", and "access denied"

doesn't matter now, as have changed to netmeter, which works when putting into standby or log-off
