Quota meter does not match ISP meter

[link to this post]

I have a 100gb limit on my account but at the moment there is a special on giving me 200gb for the same amount. So I set the alarm to 100gb . the meter shows I have only used 67gb but today I received a email from my provider saying I have used 217gb.
I have version 0.9.8.4
What has gone wrong

I presume if you download a 10MB file, you see the meter rise by 10MB in its counters?

Also check the other stats in the meter, e.g. daily and weekly figures.

Remember also the meter only records activity for the PC it is running on.

So you've only downloaded a 10MB file, and a very small amount of web browsing so far today?

If you look at the Statistics and Alarms menu you can see stats from the past few months. One thing that is interesting is that your upload is very close to the download, and some ISP's count both towards usage allowances.

The stats must be wrong as I just converted them to GB and it shows only around 10gb total

For this month yes, but check with ISP as not all of them run over a calendar month, e.g. it may run from 10th Sept to 10th October.
