most meter readings will be pretty inaccurate ?

including laptops , our not untypical household has 9 devices that use the WIFI router -

1- I'm guessing that the meter CANNOT cope wih ipads iphones wiis (bar android now)
2- basically most of us will be getting highly inaccurate readings from the meter (tho I stand to be corrected on that) (bar having standard pc's LT's on our user accounts)

so is there anything out there that monitors the router throughput ?

add-on comments

isp = BT, and as faras can tell they provide only MTD data which is glass half empty stuff

used to be iwth zen who provided brill daily stats analysis

not sure if BT's home hub 3 can run DD-WRT

Some routers report the traffic volume, though off-hand I don't know which. Logging it daily is a chore, but feasible, because I did it when I first went to a limited allowance package.

Otherwise you need one that supports SNMP, or something like PRTG.
