Interleaving on or off

[link to this post]

I have switched service from a 2mbs fixed line to adsl. I want to know if interleaving is on or off. My dlink router doesn't show 'fec errors' as a separate item. I have rambled around with telnet for an hour or two without much luck. Is there a straightforward way I can find out (which doesn't involve phoning the isp) ?

Removed my reply as I just realised what you meant by this:

laugh

As any FEC errors showing in the router stats would indicate that interleaving was switched on.

Edit:
Which D-link router is in use?

dsl-2740r, they come with such snappy names. Happy to trawl round in telnet but need some clues !

Ah, just had another go.

Telnet command wan adsl chandata shows 'near-end interleaved channel bit rate: 4256 kbps' and 'near-end fast channel bit rate: 0 kbps.'

And wan adsl perfdata shows 'near-end FEC error interleaved: ' followed by a large number.

So interleaved it is I suppose.

You believe correctly

Fast is the non-interleaved mode
