talktalk line stats

So i was with o2 broadband just switched over to talktalk also i repaired my phoneline i had cut by using jelly crimps i mean even with a damaged and hand joined line i got 7.6mb downstream now i ger 5.9mb with talktalk these are my stats

Switchover: 22nd december 2011
Line reapired using jelly crimps 22nd december 2011

Speed with o2- 7.5mb
talktalk with fixed line which i repaired myself 6mb

Could be this 10.2db -12.2db SNR levels, Ask tt tech support via TTuser forums for a 6db target margin, fastpath will also give a boost to your sync speeds once these changes have been made i wouldn't be suprised if you see similar speeds again if not better, or if the line will handle it a 3 db margin

As tommy has said this is due to your high downstream SNR - TalkTalk's default is 12db.
On the forums request to be put on a "24FSNR6" profile, this will also put you on a fastpath profile as well as reducing your noise margin to 6db. Also might be worth asking to switch off DLM if you like to switch on/off your router frequently.
