We reviewed the DSL-N55U
And found you had to clone the Sky routers MAC onto the WAN interface of the Asus for it to work. Also make sure you are using a current firmware on the router, we found the early firmware to be very buggy.
Thanks, I did read that. The thing is, I have never had a Sky router since I was with O2 (using O2's router) and switched over to Sky. Since I am now getting poor speed on the old O2 router (it will only connect on ADSL1 instead of ADSL2+ as it used to with O2 before the switch), I wanted to try and see if the Asus would do better. Sky themselves instruct you how to set up a non-O2 router on this page
- but all that does is give me the ADSL link up like the OP, not internet access. Admittedly, I haven't tried to spoof the O2 router's MAC address, but I sort of doubt that would make a difference - I would have thought that the spoofing is required when you have a router that was supplied by Sky in the first place.
