analog phone calls

[link to this post]

Not quite on topic, so apologies, but people on this form may be able to answer ...
I was just musing on it as I made a voip call.

Are any phone calls in the UK still analog all the way from phone to phone? (eg on same exchange)
If not, when was the last fully analog call?

Moved (with trepidation turned relief) to BT Infinity 2 for upload speed. Happy BE user for several years.

BT's public network became fully digital on 11th March 1998 when the last exchanges were fully transferred to SystemX or Y working.

However, there are still several analog or mixed networks and exchanges installed in the UK. Some are in daily use with a fully analog voice path - the relay switching is digitally controlled though. There are also emergency networks - run by various organisations including the MoD which are not in daily use but are tested frequently.
