Caller ID

Hi All,

Is there any way to remove the hyphen in between the number shown on caller ID?

I have a Orchid Keyphone KP416 set up with caller ID. The number is shown when the phone rings, but the hyphen stops the phone from recognising the name of the caller.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I have caller ID on my BT Retail supplied line, and don't see random hyphens added to my incoming callers details ...

maybe the issue is specific to the equipment you mention ?

Can't you add hyphens to the callers name in the phone to match the caller id?

We have check the phone system but it's not their issue, we think it may be from our provider (TalkTalk)

Do you have access to a different unit to borrow and test with, or maybe buy a cheapy, and try that ?

I've tried it with a different telephone and we still get the hyphen in the number. I've bypassed the system and plugged it into the BT socket for both telephones and still get the same.

Different, as in a different make ?

OK, so maybe get TT to look into it ...... but I suspect that might be 'fun'.

Please report back when it is resolved, always handy to stash these weird ones away in the corner of ones brain.

Same make just different model, I was sent a different handset from Orchid to find out if it was the handset which had the issues. The same problem occurred.

I have spoken to a member of TalkTalk and the only answer I received was that they can't change it.

I have spoken to the technical team of Orchid and they have suggested this forum to see if anyone else has had this problem.

I don't believe I am the only one who has these keyphones and have TalkTalk, there must be a solution.
