I assuming you dont need to re-boot with XP, just disable/enable?

I always reboot after changing the MTU etc, but that's just me

Yep, on XP just enable/disable, and it works fine. No need for a reboot on XP. It does nothing but waste yer time

Downstream 6789 Kbps (848.6 KB/sec) 7332 Kbps (inc. overheads)

I'm a complete noob and i dont wont to sound like and idiot on here... sigh... I'm using Dr TCP to change the Rwin/mtu values.. Am i appying the settings to the Network card or the Actiontech?? Apologise for the Noobish questionm i suppose i better read broadbanreports?

Also, still cant get an increase on the Upload.. 217k on whatever tweaks i try!

even though the servers are 100Mbit they may be capped to 6Mbit per connection.

could it be because it is in America or somewhere far away that I am losing speed? <== yes, cause it depends on the routing

if it's an european bot you should get 750KB+ assuming the bot has > 1MB upload speed and nobody else is downloading at high speeds

i didnt have rwin settings to mess with on my router (Belkin wireless ) but i did have MTU.
I am on UKol's new signup for 2mb connection and by dropping my MTU form 1478 to 1430 i gained an extra 15-20k/s download speed! mind u anything less and it dropped out and anything more than 1478 seemed to hinder the connection.

Hope this helped someone hehe, it did me Nice one! this something i used to look into when i was on dialup :S sad leech that i was... i completely forgot about this when i moved to dsl coz i was extatic with the speed anyhow.
