I've been having terrible problems over the last few days with the Xbox dashboard. No one else seems to be having any problems apart from Sky / UK Online.
I can't even get a ping to work. On UK Onlune LLU here.
Any ideas what's wrong ? All other internet websites are fine.
Is anyone else on UK online currently experiencing any problems with Xbox.com and Live ?

Well well, i just connected to the net via my mobile phone and xbox.com is as fast as normal. So something isn't right with UK online and Xbox.com and Live.
Mobile phone great, UK Online the xbox.com website is dreadful to access.
Could you fix it pretty please ?

just tested and the dashboard works.
it isnt particurly snappy but in the year I have had my xbox360 it never has been snappy.

I have difficulty accessing a lot of dashboard items it just times out. Unfortunately i can't connect my xbox to the net using my mobile.
Xbox.com is like death heat up on UK online but via 3 mobile its great. Some UK Online LLU routing problems somewhere i suspect.
Hope it's fixed soon and thanks for your reply Crysalis.

so the ukonline traceroute seems to show nothing unusual except some loss I am seeing on hops 10 and 11 (might be icmp rate limiting so nothing conclusive).
I am guessing the return route would show the story but this is something we cannot see.

I can't use xbox.com at all its hardly appearing for me and the timeouts are happening on my xbox dashboard.

Cheers Btcc22, thanks for your reply, i've tried everything but nothing works. (Unless i use my mobile) so there is something wrong with UK Online somewhere along the way. This is 2 full days like this now for me, very annoying having a poo dashboard and no proper access to xbox.com

Try using a different DNS service, at the very moment i type this like Btcc22 access to xbox.com for me is either very slow or the page doesnt load using ukonline DNS servers. (I cant test xbox live, or similar as i dont own a 360)
Using other DNS services such as opendns and a couple of others here

I have no issues connecting to xbox.com. but it is at times still very slow.
Interesting also AS I TYPE THIS access to Microsoft.com and the windows and offic update sites are also basically not responding, checking for updates just eventually freezes or doesnt load the page. Its possible MS servers are very busy for some reason (was there another free win 7 RTM release or something within a couple of days??)
This may not be a Ukonline issue but a MS issue or even a combination of both. It doesnt take much to upset MS servers, they are always having bouts of brain wind.

Same problem for every body in allot of countries , Xbox live is all over the place and has been for a couple of days ,.
Game play been unaffected but down loading game stats and the like from Microsoft servers has been slow as has been access to Xbox Market place .
I doubt very much this is just a UKonline problem as i play with a very extensive clan base from all over the world that are reporting slow Microsoft server access .
Not every one is effected all of the time but most have noticed the service is a bit wobbly , should be fun tomorrow when the new map pack for WaW is available for download .
I don't use UKonline DNS servers and don't seem to be as badly effected as you are describing , like i said game play is unaffected so it would point to a problem out side of UKonline control IMHO .
Its all to easy to blame your ISP for every page that hangs every game you lag out in , but the fact is your isp only has control over one part of your Internet connection ,and the problem is very often outside of there control .

The thing is when using my mobile as a modem (3 network) xbox.com works perfectly, it's not slow at all. When i use UK Online it just won't work.

I'm having issues too, I had them yesterday as well.
xbox.com just loads the page title, if i'm lucky after a long wait I might get part of the page but it is EXTREMELY slow.
As for actual xbox live, I can't speak for it I haven't played much stuff online recently but browsing the marketplace yesterday was a complete pain it just wouldn't load anything, friends where slow to load too.

doesnt mean its a uko issue.
The way traffic gets itself to you is a through a web of possible paths, it only takes one of these paths to have a problem and bam connection issues.

I tried it on 3 friends ISP's BT, Orange and Talk Talk, it's fine on those ISP's just UK online it seems. And it also works perfectly on my mobile. (3 network)

I'm on bethere at the moment, and xbox.com loads completely in sub 5 seconds.
moving to uk online next week, hope this isn't a sign of things to come!

No all is well everywhere else mysterym10 you won't have any worries its just xbox.com and xbox live has been a problem for me over the last 3 days.
Other than that i can't fault UKO, been with them for a little over a year now. (LLU)
It'll hopefully be spotted and fixed soon.

I will check orange again tonight, it was the same as my ukonline when I tested yesterday.
I left it for a few minutes and found the hompage loaded  I am going to make a post on their forums about this and see if anyone will look at it from microsoft's end or if anyone else from other isps makes a comment if they have the same problem.

ok there is complaints on their forums of connectivity issues, I got no idea if its the same problem tho, alot of them are saying it started about half a week ago (coincidence with this issue?) but also another lot are saying they had issues for the last 2 weeks.

Hmm... xbox.com is very slow to load for me too. I'll see what's up with this when I get into the office tomorrow morning. Last few hops look dodgy, but it may be ICMP getting dropped.

Just to update:
xbox.com takes longer load but loads in a more complete form and actual xbox live seems fine, saying that i've only played a few games of red faction online, I haven't tried the marketplace again yet but friends loads as normal.

Been reading about myself, rumour is MS servers have been having issues over the past few days (possibly a week) due to their new "Bing" search service they have just launched. Apparantely its far from finished so to speak and is often giving meaningless search results. MS have been working on it....... I assume in spits and spats and thats what is causing some MS services being slow to load.......
It doesnt look to me like UKonline are to blame given this info.... Not that much earlier today microsoft windows update site and office update sites were very slow, just checked again before typing this and things seem fine, so it looks like its Microsofts end and some fiddling about they are doing, possibly related to "Bing".
MS sites are also slow intermittantly at work which is an IPstream service and also slow for a neighbour on O2 LLU and another neighbour with BT thereself.
@snoods, delete your mobile phone internet cache and see how fast it loads then, i bet that slows it down.

I was just using the 3G as a connection for my main PC Carpetburn, when using it i have no problems at all with xbox.com it loads nice and fast, this is even after emptying my browsers cache.
This is what i don't get, when people are suggesting it's a problem with MS servers, it all works great until i connect with UK online, then i can't access xbox.com.
Also the very same dashboard content i cant access on my xbox with UK online works perfectly on my negbours xbox via Talk Tallk. If it was a Microsoft problem wouldn't it affect everyone ?

Snoods, I'm experiencing the same problem as you. I can't access any download content on the xbox and the forum hardly loads. I've checked my network settings on the 360 and they come back fine.
Is it around 4 days now?
I have no problem with any other site on the internet apart from the xbox site and whilst on the 360 marketplace.
Would be nice to get this sorted out.

It is not a Ukonline issue, the problems are intermittant, MS forums have confirmed there may be downtime or slow results from some MS sites due to work still being done on the new Bing search service (Id link but you need to be a member of MS technet and their forums).
It is happening for people the globe over, O2 as oliver suggested are not exempt from the issue, last night (1am ish uktime onwards) MS sites were working fine on Ukonline and other ISPs, today again its intermittant (early morning around 7am they were fine, as i type this things have started to slow again).
Ukonline cant fix MS issues, so you will just have to wait for your gaming fix until MS sort thereself out.

As ive stated more than once now.......
The issue is intermittent
No ISP in the world can cure it, some MS sites load quickly one hour the next they are dog slow.

It isn't intermittent on UK Online, it just doesn't work, any time i have tried it on my friends ISP's which include BT, Orange, Talk Talk 3 Mobile network, it all works perfectly.
If it was intermittent it would surely work an odd time on UK Online. It hasn't worked for 4 days non stop. Dashboard times out, xbox.com takes forever to load and that's if it loads at all. Nipping next door in less than a minute to try it on Talk Talk, it's all working perfectly.

I doubt people would wait ages for the site to load, and then wait some more to read various forum sections and then wait some more and search for a post to reply to about issues with the site not loading.
Even if they did the very fact they have posted, shows the issue must come and go (unless all those Sky users also have other connections to access the net).
I do agree something somewhere is wrong, but it is to varying degrees, as i type this xbox.com loads fine, earlier today it did not. (atleast for me)
No idea if its ukonline issue entirely at fault or not, if it isnt there is not much they can do. I personally think its more MS related as ive seen some MS sites load very slow on other connections.
Just have to wait and see i guess...... Besides xbox live i think anyone over 10 (no disrespect intended at all to anyone here before i get attacked) we can all live without for a few days, think of it as a rest from childish Americans screaming and swearing at you down their headsets in their best squealing cat like voice for losing another round of some first person wander around shoot stuff pish LOL

I'm 49 and would just like to access to live and xbox.com as i did 4 days ago on UK Online. I don't have sound enabled so i hear no screaming ever. I have no time for all that nonsense.
I've waited 4 days i have plenty to keep me busy, i will wait patiently utill UKO fix the problem. I do have a life outside xbox live. Would just be nice if the dashboard would work properly again sometime soon. (And i know that it eventually will)

Well I have no issues with the dashboard or friends or ingame etc but the marketplace is slow as hell and downloading stuff from the marketplace (if it loads) is slow too. Same with xbox.com domains are extremely slow.
Yes I waited for it to load, how else are you meant to see if others are reporting the same issue on the forums?

Yes day 5 with no proper xbox.com access. It'll be fixed eventually when they find out what the problem is.
Dan has aready acknowledged they are looking into it. How long it will take them is anyones guess. I guess as usual though nothing will happen over the weekend.

I am also unable to access Xbox Live Marketplace on my Xbox 360. I am able to sign in, have not tried playing an online game. But I am also unable to access Xbox.com.
I am using Sky internet.
It seems nice how Microsoft just announced a new partnership with BSkyB at E3 for providing TV through Xbox 360. And now sky internet is not connecting properly!

Yes a bit ironic isn't it Amoa. Somethings on the dashboard work, others don't, they just time out. Signing in works fine though as you say.

none of the internal easynet routers match and the first match is

this leads me to think the problem is not on easynet's equipment and is on msn equipment that seems to be only used for sky/ukonline routes. I also think the timing in relation to the football announcement could mean something, perhaps something was configured on the easynet ip ranges to allow the football and it broke routing.

It appears to have been fixed as of just after 9.00 PM. This is good news indeed. Xbox.com has returned to normal here. Hope it lasts. Dashboard seems to be fine again too. Woo Hoo!
That sure was a poo 5 days accessing the Dashboard and Live. Still, all's well that ends well.

Luckily i have my 3 mobile to access xbox.com where it loads normally without having to wait for ages for the page to appear.
Guess this is the 5th day. Is something being done or is it best to start looking for a different ISP?
So you are going to move over an issue that has not in any way been proven to be the fault of the ISP as yet? LOL....... Go ahead!

5 days is a quick turn around time for an ISP to fix something if it was their fault, good luck moving and getting some to fix issues inside of a week

Whether it was easynet or microsoft at fault is some what moot, one of them was and it was adversely effecting the other.
Call it moaning if you want fact is there was an issue its now solved and if (assuming it was microsoft at fault) anyone was to get the best result out of microsoft it would be ISPs/easynet.
Regardless of whether of who was at fault the word should be "thanks" none the less, not "apologises".

I can also confirm xbox.com and the Marketplace is now working for me. Although the Marketplace on my 360 is still a little slower than it used to be. But I am now able to view items and I am able to download things.
Just a note, it is not just football that will be viewable on the 360, it will be movies, and also other TV programs, such as things off of Sky1. No date announced on when it will be coming, or how it will work. So it could be Sky or Microsoft trying to get the back end stuff sorted to get it working , although I have no idea how any of that stuff works, so could be talking complete rubbish.

Just tried it here (just gone 5.30am) and xbox.com takes several minutes to load..... Infact id say its worse than ive previously seen at a time (UK wise) it should be at its best lol

Also when I was late by 1 day in changing my credit card details I got a nasty letter threatening me with legal action. They were super quick to do that.
BTW, certain xbox features still not working.

Your main point about paying both companies is the best one...... Why are people not ALSO complaining to Microsoft?? (I suspect most are not)
I have again about an hour ago tested xbox.com on 5 (YES FIVE) freebie dialup accounts as well as Ukonline..... on NONE of them does the site load quick, some it totally times out on, some it takes 5 minutes or longer and on ONLY ONE dialup account did it load in what i would call a acceptable time (for dial up ofcourse).
The issue IMO (STILL) is MS related, i suspect its either routing or MS have updated server IP addresses and for some DNS it has not yet filtered down fully. I had a similar issue with a forum i visit about a week back.... They moved servers for about 48 hours i couldnt access with ukonline DNS but it would work fine after just 2 hours of moving with opendns. I suspect the issue here is something atleast similar.
With regards to your credit card thing, i can only assume you didnt get the email worldpay send out when a credit card expires...... I had that happen and just logged into worldpay, updated the details with the new card (rather funnily thats just the expire date lol) and the next day it was billed as normal.
I really cant fault Ukonlines billing system, i love how i get an email when payment has been taken each month and can manage my ways i wish to pay online...... If you want to see bad billing you should had used Pipex in the past..... One moment a staffer would tell you payment details have been updated a week later when they take too much (IE bill both old and new payment method) or dont take any money (IE entered new payment details wrong.... Nobody knows where, what or how it happened. Now thats what you call a shambles.

I'm using opendns and having the same issues as everyone else, using regular uko dns and opendns had no effect on xbox.com domains for me.
Saying that it seems to be fine at the moment.

Yep working perfectly on Ukonline for me also for now 6.30pm....... Told you it was intermittant
Will probably die later (MS bods that are tweaking have probably gone to lunch as its around that time in the USA LOL)
