Hello all.
thinking of comeing back to VM on 20MB broadband service, but would like to know if they are still as bad as what they where when i was with them last year,i never got any where the 20MB & think that was due to haveing an over subscribed UBR, is there anyone in my area Camberwell SE5 7PQ that has the 20 MEG service n if so is it ok now.
thanks for any help.

the only problem with VM is that the traffic management, you speed will slow down during day/evening.....

i'm gonna stick to it for a bit as i'm only paying 26 per month incl fone. i hope it improves. I do get full 20mb in the nite and mornings

Sarf Lunnen UBRs haven't been upgraded yet so probably no improvement on your experience last year.
And it's quite likely that congested areas will only improve once VM get DOCSIS3 working, around the end of the year or maybe 2009.

Short answer: you can't.

Long answer: you could monitor VM's 4Mb-10Mb upgrade schedule but it doesn't include much advance information, the dates are all (very!) "subject to change" and the page isn't regularly updated.
Alternatively you could try to find the maintenance bulletins put out a week in advance but I've only found them on VM's (closed) newsgroups.

And even then, folk are still reporting speed and connection problems *after* their UBR has been upgraded...

I'd stay with ADSL until the end of the year, if I were you.

i dont download all the time (used to) but want fullspeed when i need it but downloaded about few Gigs today at fullspeed i think it will be capped after i do 6GB or so....
