As the information was officially released at 7:30am this morning I've done a very quick update using my 3G connection that is dropping 25% of packets

Never mind, maybe in another 4 - 5 years someone else will buy it.

If in 4 or 5 years the new owners have just concentrated on pay TV competition with Sky, then the broadband platform will be very old and look ancient even compared to what Openreach is offering.

Given Liberty Global own the UPC brand, with the acquisition of VM are the largest cable company in the world and offer 150Mb in a number of countries I think it'll be fine.

In ireland for example they rebuilt most of the ntl network, right down to replacing the coaxial cable. They know cable.

Lets hope so.

UPC also show their upload speeds something that is very difficult to find on VM's website.
