152mb in Cosham

[link to this post]

I am thinking of moving from by infinity 2 to Virgin 152mb due to getting discount from work. I run a plex server so upload is very important. And I see they do traffic magengment so could that be a problem??. Also if anyone in Cosham has Virgin would like to know what the speeds are like

Hi

If upload is important then you should stay where you are, how fast is you upload currently?

I'm in Crawley with Virgin and at the moment the service is very bad due to heavy congestion on the network at most times of the day.

My 120meg virgin went totally pear shaped over night about 6 weeks ago I would never use them again.
Although I live about 10 miles away from Cosham, it actually routed through fareham then Cosham.

See http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/general/f/4372788-v...

I ended up having to get a brand new phone line installed & get Fibre-to-the-Cabinet installed from another provider, which has fixed every single problem I had.

Definitely different - Havant and Fareham both have their own CMTS. Cosham is their headend but they are both hubsites in their own right.

Stick with BT Infinity 2 if you're getting a good upload already - It's a much more stable platform!

I'm in Portsmouth which is on a different CMTS however the stability of the connection compared to my home Infinity connection is terrible with Virgin. Infinity is just so much more stable.
