I use two BT numbers - one is free with my Infinity service and I pay for calls although not much! The second costs £5/month and has a large number of UK minutes and calling the US is around 10p for 59 minutes.

I use te BT communicator application on my PC when travelling and break out fro the router to a hard wired phone at home/office.

I have Sipgate and Voipfone accounts. At the moment I don't use them much, but I expect to in the future. I plan to move my land line number to Voipfone. Sipgate no longer allow this, though I do have a Sipgate number where the first four digits are the same as my land line number.

Draytel and Sipgate. Both are free (no monthly charge) and operate on a pay as you go system. I have both but then BT offered any-time free calls with a package for BT shareholders, which I took!

I use two. Sipdiscount for all outgoing calls.Have just topped up 10, last top up was 10 in 2007/
Secondly, when I got rid of my BT landline I transferred the number to Sipgate for £20 and enabled this number for emergency calls. My Sipgate top-up is still there after 17 months

Which package do you have the 5/month one on?

No real idea, signed up for it about 3 years back and just keep paying! I never hit the limit either.

localphone.com and sipgate.co.uk. localphone costs 0.4ppm to call uk landlines & 1.5ppm for uk mobiles.
I have used them since october as my primary phone at home using a hardware voip handset.
I have read a few forum posts saying that they are lowest quality, but i have 0% complaints about them. I think they are perfect.

The concept works well and reliably when I was temporarily in Gibraltar and South Africa. An ideal bit of kit is the Gigaset where the phone can receive both the local number and VoIP on the same handset. My service provider is www.callmaster.co.uk but the monthly fee is a hefty £12 per month.
