Porting a number from Vonage & Porting Agreements in general

[link to this post]

The Vonage number which I was given when I signed up with them suits me well and is used by many people. Accordingly when I move to another VOIP supplier from Vonage I would like to port the number to that new provider.

I understand that all depends on whether there is a porting agreement in place between the old & new providers.

It's been suggested that there is a table of such agreements "somewhere" on the internet. If there is can someone please point me to it.

Maybe someone has experience in porting numbers from Vonage?

Thanks in advance

Porting agreements change all the time, the easiest way is to ring the prospective voip provider and ask them.

Vonage I imagine will be straightforward as its voip. The usual complications are when a number is held with one company and has been ported to another but again, a quick check will usually tell you.

Which VoIP provider do you wish to port to?

Last year I ported a 7 year old Vonage number over to Sipgate without any hassle whatsoever. Cost £20 and was completed in 10 days.
