JavaScript slide show in IE10

[link to this post]

Around 13% of my site visitors are using IE10 so I can no longer ignore the fact that my use of a JavaScript slide show doesn't work in IE10 but does on earlier versions of IE and all other browsers.

A browser search on the subject throws up many suggested solutions but none of these actually work for me.

So is there a JavaScript slide show function out there that works with IE10 and of course any other browser that a end user choses?

Be great if someone has a solution to share on this issue.

Is a non-JS solution viable? You can achieve slideshows in pure CSS3 now, but I'm not sure of the IE10 support, so it might be worth double checking before doing all the work.

Try with an IE10 browser:

All Connection Data ~ Some plusnet links

I've forgotten more about broadband than I care to remember.

Happy to go down that route, but the example provided doesn't work with IE10, although no issues at all with any other browser on the same PC. Very nice it is too.

What is with IE10 that if has ***** up this very desirable feature?

The JavaScript slide show I use - Slimbox - is fine in IE10.

With jQuery 1.9+ use the version here: http://code.google.com/p/slimbox/issues/detail?id=36

Well that sounds good, will investigate. Any working examples that I could look at by any chance?

Ah, Unfortunately not what we are looking for. Basically I require a selection of pictures to be displayed in a continuous loop - not an enlargement of a thumbnail with next/preview buttons.

Only in IE10 does the coding I use fail to display a sequence of pictures in a loop a problem that many web designers are being faced with. Frustratingly there are a few web sites out there that have cracked this problem but trying to get to the coding used is difficult, if not impossible. One of those solutions would suit me nicely but where is the source code?

Where is all this used? At www.terryrusselltrams.co.uk - Cross check IE10 with the output from any other browser and you will see what the issues is.

Yes, needs do of course vary. Our version uses window.setInterval to time the show. I am not aware of any issue with this in IE10.

Our players wanted to be able to choose between viewing a single image, stepping through the images one by one, and a timed slide show, and this is done via function keys. Hit the PageDown key to start a timed slide show in a continuous loop.

It was found that in IE10, blend is no longer supported. Removing the call to that feature resolved the problem.

I thank everyone offering alternative solutions to be most helpful but for me the revised coding will do for the time being.
