Reliable Webhost required

[link to this post]

Currently I have a website hosted by my ISP merula.net, according to an uptime alert it is up and down like a yo-yo, currently down, their attitude seems to be it is free hosting so it does not matter

the website is a .net domain, no idea how much is on there currently, but most images are elsewhere as apparently 53 GB is too much for "unlimited"

Looking for a uk based host who have

good customer support
wordpress install
ability to block ip if possible ( lots of muppets trying to log in)
whois privacy protection as not a trader and not need my details online

been looking at www.register1.net who are a possible, fasthosts are not as hosted with them in the past to take over a domain and they could not do an internal transfer let alone external one

Windows is now a 64 bit tweak of a 32 bit extension to a 16 bit user interface for an 8 bit operating system based on a 4 bit architecture from a 2 bit company that can't stand 1 bit of competition. Merula FTTC

I use Zen and have found them very reliable, their support I've found to be excellent.

They have full cPanel so you can block ip's and cater for most cms including wordpress

v21 > Fast4 > Vivaciti > Zen

Another vote for Tsohost, but if you are looking for 53GB of storage that is going to cost you! You may be best going for a lower package and retaining your existing bulk storage arrangements.

It just works, and CS is excellent.

Is this a business website?

I actually had my first CS "failure" with them last week. It's was a slightly complex issue but I just couldn't seem to get them to understand the problem (dealt with four different people during the course of the request) so I gave up in the end and did it another way. But on the whole, highly recommended.

I was with TSO for years but I too have switched to Zen (from Google apps for business) I find the whole cpanel thing the best for me.

I have most of my domains on cPanel, with one on their new Cloud setup. I agree cPanel is nicer to use.

Are you spamming the forum as your only post is to resurrect a 5 month old thread?

I must admit I wasn't 100% sure personally which is why I didn't jump straight to a report but I do think you are correct.
