Changing Rural Broadband Provider - No LLU

[link to this post]

I have a rock solid connection to the exchange and always sync at near maximum.
I'm only 1/2 mile away from the exchange in fact.

I'm currently with Talk Talk Business (through F2S originally) and have a peak time problem as you might expect.

Despite my rock solid connections my download speeds at peak times are no better than 1.5mps. Off peak they are 6.5 mps. The 1.5mps is a problem if I want to stream video (no other P2P type services used) like BBC iplayer or Sky etc at peak times.

I don't want much. Just someone who gets me 3mps or higher at peak times which, given my connection stats, I don't think are a problem.

What are my options for a reasonable price - £20 or so?

Thanks

Please can we see the connection stats? And is the exchange WBC-enabled?

Any idea how much you download and upload per month? That's the main info needed for choosing the best £20'ish product.

Good attenuation, but looks to be a bit noisy

Can't say whether its noisy, the 7616Kbps indicates probably on an interleaved profile and for some ISP's they request this as the default for a line, i.e. its presence does not always indicate a noisy line.

As for the 7.7dB margin, which one might expect to be higher, as you are at the highest sync speed, it is possible the modem/dslam is backing off power levels

I think the only additional to my previous list possibility would be an Entanet reseller such as vivaciti. Enta seems to be a lot healthier than in its bad spell.

I am not on the same exchange as the op but on a similar Market1 exchange and have got decent reliable speeds since I moved to Xilo. I am on their office 15gb package which is £19,.99 plus vat, but they do a Home 25gb package that comes in at around £20 inc VAT that might be worth a look - One month contracts as well.

Allen1, Glad you have seen an improvement on moving away.

As an aside I wonder how many ex F2S customers are still with Talk Talk Business?
