LLU or WBC

[link to this post]

So I've seen that my local exchange will be upgraded to WBC ADSL2 soon, and I was wondering if I'm better sticking with a LLU provider?
I currently get a 15mb sync but a 4-5mb throughput on a my llu line frown

Sounds bad. Which LLU ISP, and line stats please?

(WBC is ADSL2+ smile. ADSL2 has a maximum sync of 12Mbps.)

I'll dig up the current stats tonight as I've got a new router:
My stats were with a DG848PN with the DGteam FW (taken from a support ticket 4/4 last year):

And they are now with a DGND3300

Line Attenuation 31.0 db 17.1 db
Noise Margin 6.2 db 11.1 db

I would say LLU should be able to provide better than 21CN/WBC. That is because LLU doesn't have the BT profiling system. However, depends on what package you are on with Vivaciti as your rates seem a little low. I have just moved to one of the Vivaciti Be wholesale packages which is giving me an excellent connection on a high attenuation than you have. It may be that Variety is not quite such a good LLU network (don't know much about the other packages I'm afraid).

I do have a feeling my account is messed up as out of hours there is not supposed to be any throttling our of hours.
Xilo have just started to offer something at my exchange so Im currently thinking of moving, but saw WBC is coming soon.

Do you have Be wholesale at the exchange? Moving to either Xilo or Vivaciti using the Be network both seem like good options at the moment (but then I would say that having gone live on Vivaciti yesterday). Only reason I didn't go Xilo was the £40 connection fee otherwise I would most likely have ended up there (just biding my time until FTTC dates are properly announced for my exchange).

What is you're exchange name, as having 2 llu suppliers shows that theres a commerical investment into that exchange.
Exchange may be in the commercial rollout or it could be enabled with BDUK funds (BT is likely to win the maority).

Its Audley .

Are you connecting wired or wireless to your router?

If wireless, at a time when the throughput is bad try wired. Just to make sure it isn't the wirelss that is screwing you. It often is smile.

Your stats are fine.
