Which ISP for hotspot business

[link to this post]

Hi there
I'm looking for an ISP provider that I can use for a hotspot. With my hotspot I'll be charging users for access so I'm looking for an ISP which allows me to do this.

I think aaisp allow this and VM business but I would be grateful if someone could provide some input.

Also on a side note ideally I'd like a 50mb connection like VM residential give out for this hotspot. But is there any alternative to this speed if I'm not in 21c area.

It may help if you identify the exchange serving the area of the hotspot.

See http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange_search

Thanks for the reply, but it doesn't lead me to the answer sadly.

But here is the area info http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/SDHV

Hi techmad2010,

By the looks of it, your exchange has mostly everything laugh

It's enabled for Virgin Media, FTTC, 21CN, Be and many more providers.

Usually business packages cover the factors you need for a broadband connection as a hotspot provider.

Have you considered an FTTC provider such as BT Business? - http://business.bt.com/broadband-and-internet/intern...

If you are very close to your exchange, you might want to consider Be's 'Line Bonding' service which can be found here: https://www.bethere.co.uk/web/beportal/linebonding

I hope this helps

Hi

As a Sussex based ISP, we would be very happy to help. We run a pay as you use style product like A&A and can offer FTTC as well as ADSL(2) (Bonded or otherwise). There are no useage caps and you can start low and buy more as your business grows.

There are a few other considerations with running a hot spot such as content filtering (Would you want to have people download kiddie porn over your hotspot?) and bandwidth management to name just two. We would be happy to work with you to help design and implement a suitable solution that fits for your business and not just provide a connection, if this is of interest.

If you would like to talk your thoughts through, please feel free to get in touch.

Drew

Hi thanks for everyone's posts, so if I use VM business - that shouldn't be any problems. Do you know if they have traffic shaping on the business line or any kind of data limits?
