Windows Vista Computer not starting up properly

Every time I try and start up my computer it comes up with 'Reboot and Select Boot device or Insert Boot Media in Selected Boot device and press a key'. Any help guys.

Can you see the hdd in bios?
If you can then I would boot off the vista dvd and choose the repair option.

Either hard drive failure or corrupt windows partition...

Either way needs a reformat either via CD or recovery partition.

What make computer is it? Make and model would help lots

You don't have any external hard drives or usb flash drive inserted?

UBCD4Win would be a better option but better still for this type of problem is the "Falcon4" release as this includes MS DaRT 5&6.
