Windows 8 Short-Cut Keys

[link to this post]

I'm sure there are far more, but here are a few useful ones:

<Windows> Toggle between current app and Start Page
<Windows>-D Desktop
<Windows>-<Tab> Cycle through open apps
<Windows>-I Settings
<Windows>-Q Search
<Windows>-, Displays Desktop until both keys are released
<Windows>-C Charms
<Windows>-Z App bar (same as right-click)
<Windows>-E Explorer
<Windows>-L Lock
<Windows>-X Brings up a menu of common options

Other <Windows>-<letter> combinations also work but are less useful IMO. The <Windows> one is probably the one most worth remembering.

Why do they have to make thing so complicated to program for ? Mind you, it's even worse for Android - and dont get people started on iPhone development...

Mind you, Linux package creation is pretty bad too...

The "new" programming languages now suffer from Project Bloat, where too much is needed just to get the simplest thing up and running...

Usual rubbish then

Indeed. I've yet to find the local news bit on my Lodger's machine unless Local means somewhere in the US. The sports bit is all world series baseball and what not and the finance app might be useful if you wanted to be interested in Wall street alone...... And they all come truly infested with ads. Very funny in my Lodger's case since the Pantene hair care products they seem to be pushing really are not much use to someone with no hair. laugh

Des

The original 32 bit junkie now snorting pure 64. Sky Broadband, Wired, Wireless, VoIP, 1 Mac, 2. Hackintoshes, 1 PC, 2 HTPCs, iPhone, iPad, OS X, Windows 7
