Silverlight 5 - 64bit v 32bit

[link to this post]

If you're running SL 4 in Mozilla (you can check your plugins via the Add-ons manager) and want to update to SL5 you might find that the 64-bit version is not compatible withe your system (despite running a 64-bit system). I think the 64-bit version is particular to IE9+

This link provides the 32-bit version:

(At first the plugins version didn't update, but it was a case of closing the browser for a second or two.)

Firefox is 32-bit so will only accept the 32-bit plugin.

Waterfox is a version of Firefox that is 64-bit.

Virgin (ADSL) => Namesco => Newnet => O2 => Plusnet => Zen => Newnet => Zen => Freeola => Vivaciti (using O2 Wholesale DSL) => Xilo (C&W Wholesale)

Thanks for that tidbit - it's flying on my system compared to Firefox.

Just done a couple of tests and it seems to be a bit quicker but it's hard to say as I get a big variation depending on time of day and the weather.

The big difference I can see is in the speed that pages are rendering.

My Broadband Speed Test

p.s. just tried a flash game that my wife says I waste too much time on and that's displaying noticeably quicker as well.
