I backed up a computer using the (Win 7) Backup and Restore facility in Control Panel and can see all the folders and files via the Restore My Files button if I browse . But I want to transfer some of them to a Win 8 computer and would like to know if this is possible (without opening and re-saving each one of the 200 or so!) I've tried copying them to a removable disk but it doesn't work. Is it possible to restore these files to a different computer with a different OS or does it only work on the source computer?
