You seem to be a constant source of information regarding Microsoft Windows, but can you tell me how I can download Microsoft Office 2013, using a "paid-for" product number?

In the past, a disk was supplied that you pushed into the relevant drive to install the required software; but now they want us to start by creating a Microsoft account that we don't really need. Why?

I get the impression that the process of Microsoft software development and sales is designed to help the company, not the end-user?

Why have we allowed this giant of a company to dictate how we execute such simple operations?

I suppose it's a security device to stop people who have wrongly obtained a "paid-for" product number, being able to get hold of the product.

However, in your case it's simply a matter of creating a Microsoft Account (used to be a Windows Live ID) and downloading the software that you're entitled to https://officesetup.getmicrosoftkey.com/

The Microsoft account gives many other benefits such as access to Onedrive storage, support, etc.

I had always used the Microsoft Digital River Azure site to download both Office and Windows products. If there is a problem with Dell Pc software their support always seems to send a link to that site.

I have found a site that lists the various Office versions and provides links.
