Re: Accessing Sky Router using 192.168.0.1 from my Win 10 De

I actually duplicated a post for some reason, the first one was correct, and yes BatBoy I am opening my Chrome browser and keying the Ip address into the URL.
You haven't duplicated any post?

In a single post first you used the parameters for me to ping my router, which obviously was going to fail and did. Then second you posted that you pinged 102.168.0.1 and you said it was fine. 102 at the start of that is not the same as 192.

It's best to copy and paste ping results, like I did, than to just comment on something we can't see.

Brillliant.

So we now know there is no problem accessing the router from your Win 10 machine. It has to be at browser level or the way you enter the address in the URL bar. BatBoy asked you exactly what you are entering there.

There has never been a problem accessing the router from my Win10 machine, as far as I am aware anyway. I key in "http://192.168.0.1" (without the quotes) or "192.168.0.1" and in both instances I get the same message ie.
"This site canít be reached

The connection was reset.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_CONNECTION_RESET"

Also tried it in IE and Edge and get similar messages

??????

"There has never been a problem accessing the router from my Win10 machine ..."

Then you say whenever you try you get "This site can't be reached".

First, those two statements seem to be directly contradictory.

Second, they make the Subject meaningless.

Third, that includes the thread.

Thanks Batboy. Yes I have rebooted the router on many occasions without success.

I don't wish to get into a battle of semantics with you RobertoS but I thought it would be obvious that I can use the router for accessing/using the Internet, email etc as that is how I am communicating with the forum!!! What I cannot do is access the router(via 192.168.0.1) to sign-on and view/amend it's settings. As an analogy it's a bit like being able to drive a car and not being able to open the bonnet/hood to maintain it.
