I saw a mention of this in the Latest Bulletin from MS this month, something about processor generation detection so maybe it has just started.

I still use XP on my 1998 laptop with SSD but AMD K-III processor, its ok for accessing my modem and just light browsing. It has wireless PCMIA card and connects ok to my wifi but don't use it that often.

i have an old Acer laptop that have Manjaro on it, but I hardly use it, I am not a fan of laptops to be honest.

I've got a Ryzen processor and Windows Update is still running fine on my Windows 7 partition.

Apparently the updates for it should have stopped by now...

Very strange,

Windows 10 would have been ok if it allowed people to change stuff.
