Sync MSO Outlook Calendar & Contacts with Google equivalents

[link to this post]

I use Google Calendar on my mobile. I use MSO Outlook on my PC and use & update the calendar frequently. I sometimes add items to my Google Calendar.

Is there any way to keep them in sync? Perhaps some Outlook plugin?

Similar question re MSO Outlook Contacts and Google Contacts.

Is this any use?

Re google calendar on your mobile, have you seen aCalendar? I use both, as google calendar is a pain in month view on an Android phone. It just shows dots for events etc. aCalendar gives a bit of info so I have that set to monthly view and google calendar set to schedule view. They sync perfectly and entering events on aCalendar much better.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. Sync 63262/13050Kbps @ 600m. BQMs - IPv4 & IPv6

In regards to the calendar in Outlook, if you select "Open Calendar > From Internet" from the ribbon it will give you the option to add a URL which will be regularly synced. You can synch your Google Calendar with this. Some websites (e.g. sporting events) also offer ical links which can be added this way, especially useful for things like the Premier League where fixtures are often re-arranged.

The downside is though, that pop-up reminders (if specified in the ical) are disabled from calendars added this way.

Oliver.

Thanks, sound useful.

One problem. I can't find a URL for the calendar that Outlook will accept. Edit: Now found.

The other point of concern to me is whether opening it in Outlook will result in all the entries that are in both being duplicated.

Looks interesting.

As in my other reply, because my Google calendar already has the contents of my Outlook calendar as of a few days ago, I'm wary of the possibility of the end result being a calendar with all those entries being duplicated.

I use gSyncit to synchronise contacts and calendar information between Outlook 2016 and Google (and hence my Android devices). I find it works well and is inexpensive.
