Wireless providers in North Yorkshire - reviews?

[link to this post]

Hello All,

I am part way (very early doors) into a move out of York (where I currently get around 11-15mbit adsl) to somewhere further out. We have looked at several properties online and come up with a shortlist but noticed nearly all of them are slow ADSL and no fttc spots.

One requirement is that we have a good broadband connection for my Mrs to work from home over VPN several times a week so I am exploring options.

I've spotted two providers so far who look promising namely: Ilovebroadband (www.ilovebroadband.co.uk) and beeline broadband (beelinebroadband.net).

If there were any comments people could make regarding them that would be appreciated..... I guess I'm looking at reliability, latency (ping aswell) and factors such as throttling.

One last question..... Does weather affect fixed wireless at all?

Cheers all.

I have been with ILove Broadband for the last 15 months or so, excellent service, reliable and weather does not really effect it..

I went from a 1-2 mb AADSL which was unreliable to a 25-28MB wireless.

@stuarttunstall whereabouts are you using the service from? Feel free to PM me if you want.

What sort of pings are you getting when using something like speedtest.net?
