Zen ADSL gone down!

[link to this post]

Anyone else affected?

ADSL link is rock solid, but I'm getting authentication failures. Billing is up-to-date (first thing I checked!). I have tried connecting the router directly to the BT test socket in the back of the NTE5 (with all telephone extension wiring disconnected) - same story. Tried a spare router - same story.

And of course Tech Support have gone home for the evening frown

EDIT: Actually, it's bouncing up and down! It just came up for about 5 minutes, and is now down again.

Anyone know if there is a service status page or phone number I can look at to see if there are any known problems? Can't find anything under the Customer Portal.

Gradually been getting more and more stable all evening, and is now *almost* rock solid again.
It's certainly nothing to do with my wiring, as I proved by connecting two different routers directly to the BT test socket. I reckon it's heat-related - it's been very hot here today.

I've had no connection despite DSL "looking good" !
Been down since 09:30 this morning.
I swapped routers, disconnected everything.
Then picked up phone and it was 15 mins after zen go to bed.
Not funny for me as I'm on call 24x7 - so why aren't they !
Anyway when they are available they are very good.
Well the latest is that it's just come back up ok - about 30 minutes or so ago.
All looking fine.
I'm in Northants so no storms around us at the moment.
The status page on Zen just times out which is a bit suspicious.
Anyway fingers crossed that we'll stay up.

I've had very slow speeds today. This happened only once before and with that it was upgrade work being carried out at the exchange.
I have checked that the same isn't happening again today with a call to Zen and it's not.

I've also noticed that my Sync figure is now 7616 which always used to be 8128. I'm Not connecting the two as I have no idea when my router dropped to this new speed.
I've had BT check the line which has been notorious for crackling in the past (although sync always remained at 8128 through that) and they say it's fine, plus I can't hear any obvious crackling with the quiet line test.
The only other thing which might have caused my new sync rate, is that the Gas Board have taken root all down my road and are having a field day at drilling it up. They are relatively close to the BT manhole covers too.

So with a mixture of Wimbledon, The gas board and Aluminium wiring i'd say the odds of me getting my usual 7Mbps are out of the question. No wonder the Dutch laugh at us when it comes to our internet speeds and allowances!

Edit:-
Could have interleaving been turned on by Zen for some reason?

Edit 2:-
Just realised from the Zen Customer Portal that BT interleaving is on Auto and was set to ON on the 23rd of June - as to why i have no idea? It's shown like this in the Portal, ie several entries.

N Interleaved Y Auto 23-Jun-2009 07:58
