And yet again, speed problems....

I've always regarded Zen as a good ISP, with rock solid speeds, but recently it really is becoming worse and worse. Here are my results today, having noticed general browsing slowdowns:

BT Speedtester results:
Download speed achieved during the test was - 1605 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :7616 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)

My Broadband Speed Test

VP status for my exchange is green. I know this isn't a live view of exchange contention, but it should count for something.

I'm only paying the premium for a Zen service, as the speeds were consistent. Lately it's been up and down like a YoYo. What's going on? I have a friend on the same exchange with a Sky BB connection, and he isn't seeing any speed problems.

No malware, other connected equipment etc. could be affecting the results.

Really getting a bit peeved with the hit-or-miss connection.

Yeah, I've noticed the same, down to around 2mb at peak times and 6mb off-peak.

zen told me they could try and get BT to juggle some wires around at the exchange to relieve congestion but it might only probably work, and if it did probably not for long or make it worse, I'm migrating to a cheaper isp, £35 is way too much for 2mb bandwidth.
