Are there speed issues the last few days?

My speeds have been slow for a few days now. I realise it's the holiday period, but my exchange is showing no contention on the plusnet checker (wish Zen had one).

The best BT speedtest result I've had is:

Download speedachieved during the test was - 3568 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7150 Kbps

So at best I'm running at about half the speed of the line.

Can anyone fron Zen check if there's an issue? I'm hoping to move to WBC in the next month, but this doesn't bode well....

Run this test at an off-peak time - see if things change. Then you can point finger at exchange contention (or not as the case may be).

Lo and behold, at this unearthly hour on a Saturday morning it's much better:

Download speed achieved during the test was - 6369 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.

Is it worth reporting this to Zen, or will BT pick up on the fact that there's congestion on the Exchange of their own accord?

BT never pick up on anything unless someone tells them tongue

The problem, however, is that the speed still falls into the acceptable limits stated by BT, so while you are entitled to report to Zen, it's likely not much will be done about it. Try and get 3 consecutive tests done when it is VERY slow, and then present that evidence.

It may be worth a phone call to Zen anyway and see if the BT/zen procedure has changed, so you can gather appropriate information.
