Phone and broadband

[link to this post]

Hi.

Is anyone using Zen for both phone and broadband? If so how do you find the phone service.

Thanks.

Kel.

My understanding is that Zen could operate phone service using their own MSANs in those exchanges where they have presence, but, as of now, all Zen phone service is provided using BT WLR3.

Of course, if you have both Zen phone and broadband, Zen could switch the line to Zen's MSAN at any time without reference to the user.

We have two Zen lines on an exchange where Zen has presence - one has FTTC and the other does not have a broadband service. We find the phone service no different to when the phone service was provided by BT Retail - because it's the same service other than charges, billing and customer service.

No issues with the phone service - its a BT WLR product anyway. Not had any cause to raise a fault etc. So can't tell you how that works out.

Same with us - we've had Zen broadband for many years, switched to Zen phone a few months ago. We switched partly because the combined package was cheaper, mainly because of BT's useless unresponsiveness a few years ago when our phone line failed. No issues with either (yet).

Got the whole deal with Zen; FTTC, Phone with "unlimited" calls and VoIP. Their web pages provide pretty comprehensive information on call usage as the days pass but no archive information available. Quite difficult and often impossible to get Zen to operate outside the box with Openreach for anything that is not scripted or "unheard of".

All good since we began with Zen in November 2011.
We even had them install a new master socket, and it was cheaper than going through BT.

I've had 2 lines for years with Zen, no problems.
Usual call divert caller display stuff works fine.
No PoP so on BT gear

Sorry I'm not the OP but I wanted to thank you all for your input. I will be joining Zen for phone and ADSL Next Monday.

@AAuser if your line rental is with A&A you need to migrate it to Zen first.
