DOH !
Yep I've just gone and bought one, right after my line was fixed, as a treat to myself and the LCD is IMO really just a gimmick.
I bought it on impulse without actually noticing it did not have a built in ADSL modem, so I had to get a new modem as well, but as my old ADSL router did not do ADSL2 or 2+ I would probably have had to replace that shortly anyhow.
The most useful feature is that now I have a separate modem, I have moved the router out of the cupboard under the stairs and have therefore got a much better wi-fi coverage from everywhere in the house.
The LCD speed display only works while you are actually download data and there are no line stats as it is not a modem, but if the line drops or the are any other problems the display pops on (I'm in saver mode) and displays the error which is quite nice. I can also see on it exactly how many wi-fi devices are connected and it has all the usual security protocols.
It has a 1GB LAN, so I do have a very high speed link between it and my Buffalo Terra-station which might be useful.
Please feel free to ask if you want any specific info
Dave.
