Grass is Greener Page

[link to this post]

http://www.plus.net/support/customer_service/using/grass_is_greener.shtml

Is a little misleading.

Plusnet

Usage allowances - Paid usage allowances from 8am-midnight and inclusive usage from midnight-8am

Sky

Some products have fixed data usage allowances, with no difference between peak and off-peak times

This is wrong as Sky do not enforce (at this moment and no documented case) that Sky have ever enforced any limits. Plenty of posts to state that Plusnet do. This to me does not stack up and is a poor excuse of a reason.

Also

Plusnet

Extra costs - The price shown on our website is the price that everyone pays

Sky

Extra costs - A 17 per month charge is required if you're not connected to an exchange where Sky has their equipment fitted

This makes it look like Sky charge you an extra 17 per month on top of the normal charge, just for not using Sky's LLU network. This really needs to be made clearer, as Sky charge 17 per month for a BT ADSLMAX type of connection, total.

Sky also sometimes charge users just 5 per month for a BT ADSLMAX package sometimes, if that user's exchange is due to be upgraded to LLU in the near future. Which is potentially 12 per month cheaper than what you are portraying.

As you are truly on your way to becoming open and honest about, there are two ways you could be more clearer and honest about.

edit: added more info

Hi there,

Regarding the IPStream charges, I'll speak to the content team and get this page updated. I agree that it could be clearer.

Regarding the usage, whether Sky are enforcing it or not they state on all their product pages that a FUP applies, so I don't think we're incorrect in mentioning this.
