Just confirm - have you checked your exchange status? If that is red the speed problems would apply it any ISP that uses BT. Zen only have LLU in four exchanges and use BT for the rest so may not be better, Be have LLU in 832.

To leave just raise a ticket and ask for your MAC. There is a route through help & support to do this:

Help & Support
Help Assistant
Account Management
Request a MAC key

As for being on LLU, it should tell you on http://usertools.plus.net/@gateway

In reply to:

You are currently connected to the "Telehouse North, LLU" gateway. This gateway is sometimes known as thn-ag2.

If you are on this gateway, you are on the Tiscali LLU Platform.

Any other gateway and you're on IPStream.

How do I check my exchange status?
I used to use Samknows website, when I last looked it no longer had the status on there.

Cheers

until about a 12 to 9 months ago, when I started getting kicked off game servers for having a slow ping and skype connections started dropping out

Hardly likely over this period of time. However router stats would help locate a possible problem. As would a BT test http://test.speedtester.bt.com:50301/

Should have put in my first post,

My speedtouch 546 synchs to the exchange (900 metres away) at 7128 Mbps and is rock steady at this speed.

Yet at 6:00pm when I check my connection speed to Plusnets servers I get 240Kbps.

I only ever get the connection speeds I used to get (18 months ago) in the morning at weekends or in the small hours of the morning on weekdays.

Could you post the stats from the router?. It will greatly help in establishing where the fault lies.
