Re: How to leave Plusnet?

You also need to post the results from a BT speedtest (especially the IP Profile) and what it says under connection settings -> high speed broadband on the PlusNet member centre portal. Note: you need to run the BT speedtests at different times of the day not just after 6pm.

Also have you actually raised a fault with PN so they can investigate?

In reply to:

Yet at 6:00pm when I check my connection speed to Plusnets servers I get 240Kbps.

That's very low compared to your sync speed. If you want to PM me your username I'll have a look and see if there is anything strange on your account.

I did raise a fault/ticket with PN about 3 months ago, watched it get re-assigned to a couple of different people of teams then get closed after nothing had been said/communicated for 2 weeks.

I think life's too short for me to spend much of it chasing PN customer support.

Tickets only close after 2 weeks if they have been sent back to the customer for more information.

TBH if it's a line problem then it could be with your regardless of which ISP you choose. I'd be happy to take this issue on personally and work through to get it resolved.

But may be handled better by speaking to the customer direct.

Looking at your account I can see a reason straight away for this, you've gone over your peak-time allowance. Broadband Plus comes with a 4GB allowance between 4pm and midnight, so far this month you've used 4.06GB.

Also I'd advise against using the speed tester in the portal as a definitive guide to your speeds. We have a new one at http://www.mybroadbandspeed.co.uk which should be better, however until your billing date comes around you'll still be restricted.

I'm not sure if you've seen the BBYW products we offer now? The peak-times are 8am-midnight on them and you can find all the information here:-
http://www.plus.net/residential/broadband/

I've just had a look and can't see any fault raised on your account since February 07.

There was no ticket to pick it up on, the last fault ticket as per my previous reply (edited) was Feb 07, 12 months ago.

If the speeds stay low once the billing date resets I'd be more than happy to look into this.

Or why the OP did not see it stating this on the view my broadband usage page?

They should also get an email stating they have exceeded the peak time usage.

Perhaps, like most of us he doesn't visit portals. However he states it's been like this for over 9 months, especially after 6pm. So to say he has exceeded his usage for the month doesn't explain what happened to the other eight.

I wonder if the email was actually received.
