Migrating in

[link to this post]

I went through the migration in process smoothly on Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday I checked the Order Status and it said a problem had been encountered. So I phoned and the guy checked and told me everything was fine for transfer on Feb 14th.
Error still there this morning so I phoned again, and was told again everything was OK and BT were now dealing with it. I was told that the error is sometimes flagged on migrations as the MAC key appears to be missing at 'first pass'. It is then checked and is usually OK.

I wondered if anyone else had noticed this?

Hi there,

This does occasionally happen when the orders are placed in an automated fashion, which we'll always try first. Sometimes we'll then have to place the order manually.

Mind posting a ticket number so that I can double check?

Haven't been online since this morning.
Forgive ignorance - but where can I find / get a ticket number please?

You get a ticket number by raising a question in the Support Assistant. However, if you give James your username he should be able to double check with that.

Thanks. Plusnet told me everything was OK when I phoned so I don't have a ticket number. But I'll send James a message with username.

They probably logged a ticket to track your call anyway but James will find this if you give him your username.

James has confirmed that my transfer looks fine with BT.
It seems that the PlusNet online switching facility does sometimes get a bit muddled over the presence of a valid MAC key.
But it's slightly disconcerting when checking the Order Status page.
