Lowest Speeds Ever...and I'm on Your Way Pro!

This is becoming a regular occurence, particularly in the evenings. I'm on Broadband Your Way Pro, yet it feels like my connection is being throttled. The video clips keep stopping and starting on YouTube, and images aren't loading properly on some web pages.

Apart from IP throughput, my IP profile and DSL connection rates are spot on.

I've noticed on the router log that my connection had been down earlier this afternoon when I wasn't using the pc. I normally have the router on 24/7.

I'm going to do some more speed tests later on and during tomorrow to see if the pattern is continuing. Any Plusnet staff online?

Just adding that I've barely used 2GB of my 14GB paid for allowance so far this month.

Have you tried to get onto another Gateway to see if it helps,
you might find it has less latency/server congestion.
there is a similar problem here (madasafish) with some of the pipes.

There is currently an on going issue at Plusnet if you check the service status you will see it.

Thanks for that. It's looking the most likely reason for my connection slowdown at peak times.

its a pity you can`t get an LLU option, not seen anything like those speeds since I switched away from a IPstream connection.

We have up to 8 meg LLU in our area now. Unfortunately it's with Talk Talk and Tiscali!!

I know I shouldn't be up at this time. Off to bed in a minute!

Pleased to say that speeds are back to normal. Evening speed problems appear to be definitely connected to load balancing.

Latest My Broadband speed test

I'm guessing you might have been on pte-ag1 when it was bad. I'm on PAYG (which should see similar traffic control as you) and BBC news videos were stalling. I disconnected/reconnected, got on PCL-AG01 and everything was instantly much better.
