By 'ECK Half Price Broadband for Shareholders

[link to this post]

I received the dividend from my vast quantity of BT shares today and was amused/interested/surprised to see an advert in the News and Offers flyer an advert for Plusnet offering shareholders six months of broadband at half price if they sign up to use Plusnet.

So how about a discount for existing Plusnet users that are BT Shareholders. - After all whats good for newcomers is also good for long time supporters of Plusnet that are BT shareholders..

Interesting to see that BT has allowed Plusnet to out itself and also that the cosseted BT Internet service was not mentioned.

Hi there,

The half price offer applies to existing customers too, you just need to get in touch as per the offer details.

Thanks to you both this was sorted in a few minutes.
Note:
1. The original BT e-mail sent to me, has the wrong telephone number and
an incorrect link. The solution is to phone PlusNet.
2. Not all shareholders get printed material. All my notifications are by e-mail.

I got the printed version but the 0800 number didn't work.
A ticket was raised and responded to in under an hour - another very happy customer

Slightly concerning. I'll mention this to our Marketing folk so that they can check things over with BT. Where does the link point too/where do you think it should point to?

We've had a few reports of the 0800 number not working (0800 073 1032). Mainly dead tones or messages redirecting you to another number. The problem seems intermittent. We've dialled all the underlying numbers and they all route correctly. We've also checked the routing on phone platform itself but that checks out ok too (we'll be replacing it soon though, so if it is a problem with that then it may get fixed by the upgrade).

I think that's the problem. Misconception.

The landing page isn't designed to show anything about any offers. Instead it sets a cookie on the visiting browser that allows you the opportunity to enter the promotional code during the signup journey.

I've relayed this feedback to the folk who were responsible for sorting the offer out.
