Re: Plusnet FTTC

[re: ConorMK] [link to this post]

I think Extra was introduced alongside the price increases that came into force last April so never had users on a lower price which is due to increase to the current price this month.

The current price is shown on the website - £11.49 in Market 3.

I assume any change doesn't apply to anyone on an "offer" price.

You could well be right as I'm on Value and that was fixed at £5.99 for 12 months - not so familiar with Extra.

I was basing my post on ConorMK saying that he was paying £10.40 for Extra + £12 for fibre and that this is more than £21.49 quoted for Fibre Extra.

His £10.40 (probably £10.49) would indicate a fixed lower price.

I'm paying £10.40 for the extra package and £12.00 for the fibre. So this brings it more that the 120GB package that you are bringing live.

You will automatically have the fibre part of the product reduced to £10 after the launch.

I spoke to the Customer options team and discussed the options. I could move to teh 120GB package and pay 20.40 a month but be on an 18 month contract. Currently I am on a monthly contract and would not want to move to 18 months.

You will automatically have the fibre part of the product reduced to £10 after the launch.

So this would bring my price down to £20.40 a month and my allowance would stay at 60GB?

Unfortunately no as there is a fixed cost for enabling FTTC and the contract with BTw is, I believe, 12 months

Hi Conor,

Unless you're thinking of leaving I don't see the difference in having a contract or not as the price would be the same.
