I think I understand the question, but if I do I don't understand why he doesn't understand the Plusnet website.

He is (was?) on the FTTC trial according to his profile. Would I be right in assuming he is therefore on monthly for fibre, rather than the current 18 months?
So the q may be would he get moved to an 18-month contract for the fibre due to upgrading his service.

Ticket 42790637 states your contract has been nullified, so no you're not held into any 18 month contracts
Basically if you were one of the earlier triallists who got it for free, you'll be held to a contract if you upgrade. However if you joined later and were on the paid trial (which came with an 18 month contract I believe) the contract is written off when you upgrade.
