MTU settings, Plusnet Extra 8MB. Belkin Playmax N600

Ok, so I just purchased this router and I am having a few problems with accessing certain websites (e.g., apple.com).

The sites generally saying waiting for information.... in Firefox or time out. Other sites operate fine. I managed to track it down to the MTU settings (this problem is less of an issue if I change MTU).

Quesiton is, what is the optimum MTU setting for Plusnet?

I am accessing via wired ethernet connection into my iMac.

Always used 1500 with router and PC since moving to Vista. I haven't experimented since I am happy with the setup. I doubt a change of MTU would make much difference to me.

Be aware that your PC's MTU should match your router's MTU.

Switched Mac Ethernet MTU port to 1454 and changed router to match and all sorted now. Thanks all!
