Advice on best way to get my good line back - PlusNet Reps

Did a spot of decorating over the bank holiday and I temporarily used an extension lead to relocate the router during the work. It looks like the extension was well dodgy as it's caused BT's DLM to turn on interleaving on my previously good line and i suspect it's increased my target SNR.

What's the best way of getting the line back to it's previous non-interleaved, 6 db state ? Can PlusNet check my target SNR ? I've read somewhere that BT are more receptive to reducing the target SNR if interleaving is on the line ?

Current stats for info are below - previously it always sync'd at 8128 with a noise margin of ~ 10.0

The lower speed is probably purely down to interleaving.
I suggest raising a ticket asking for it to be switched off explaining why

I agree. Plusnet service is the best I ever had experience so far. They do everything what the customers want, other isp's doesn't seem bother and often ingorned customers many times. My plusnet service is rock, solid and stable connection.

What are your speed tests like

Before on ADSL I get 6.59Meg and now I get 13.50Meg on ADSL2+ (plus a bonus of 1.08Meg upload) see here: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1463372123.png (that is interleaved ON)

I wonder if you would be so kind as to help me out again.

As advised under ticket 46045377 I've left my router connected for weeks and the SNR target has not reduced back to 6db. I was under the impression that if DLM didn't see any disconnects in 14 days uptime then the SNR target would return to 6db but this isn't happening.

I can sync at 8192 with a 9db margin but only if I re-sync during the day. Last night we had a power cut during dark hours which caused me to sync at a lower speed which then obviously lowers my IP profile and I have to wait again for it to rise again. If the SNR margin was reduced back to 6db I wouldn't have this problem as I can always sync at 8192 even in the middle of the night with a SNR margin of around 8db.

Is this something you can help with ?

Hi there,

We can reset the SNR and let the line retrain if you like, that should reset the SNR to 6dB given the sync speeds you're seeing there. Let us know if you'd like to go ahead.

Having said that, the profile is wavering between 7150 and 6500 - is this impacting your use of the service at all?
