Help requested with problem sending emails to BT email accts

I am having trouble sending emails to some BT email accounts.

I have broadband with Plusnet and also have my own domain, so my email address is of the form [email protected]. It is hosted by 1and1 and I use their email servers - pop.1and1.co.uk and auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk with authentication on. I use Windows Live Mail.

I am not sure if the problem is that my domain has been blocked by BT, or 1and1 is blocked, or because I�m not sending them via Plusnet�s own email servers. The odd thing is that emails get through to some btinternet.com email addresses.

I would be grateful for any suggestions to overcome the problem.

You may need to send via Plusnut outgoing servers, as not all hosts have that facility. My domain is hosted via Mr.Site. I can still send mail to my old BT mail address after leaving BT 16 months ago. I can send from mail.mydomain.co.uk but outgoing SMTP server has to be set to relay.plus.net as my domain does not have outgoing SMTP mail servers. I suspect your domain mail may be the same.

In the end yes. Dropped onto the Pro version for half price at £49, giving unlimited use and shop pages and 50 mail addresses. It is hooked up to PayPal for the shopping cart.
I chose it for speed in setting up, though I am still pasting my code into the editor for things like embedding links into images. Affiliate image links seem just as easy to paste in. It also can be worked on from anywhere.

Is this server addressed on a port other than 25? Otherwise it probably won't work.

OP's problem only related to "some" BT email addresses, so that is unlikely to be relevant.

I operate my domains through 123-reg which I assume is similar. Instead of using their servers I simply set forwarding to my relevand PN account. It works faultlessly - except when sending to vol.at in Austria!

I have multiple domains hosted at 1 and 1 and use their outgoing (smtp) servers for all of them without any problems.

I would suggest that your domain is blacklisted. Try contacting the domain which fails (btinternet.com) and ask if you are blacklisted.
