Hi Plusnet,
I received a very worrying message from my Deaf friends, saying that Plusnet is charging them 68.79p per minute for using Text Relay to make their calls - http://www.textrelay.org
Is there any reasons for this? The number is NOT a premium rate. Dialing to 18001 is FREE and the actual call itself to a normal phone number should costs the same rate as dialing a normal numbers.
See http://www.textrelay.org/what_it_costs.php
Can this be looked at urgently? Lots of very unhappy Deaf customers with big bills...
Thank you.

That not true, it didn't charged me at all as I been use alots on typetalk relay service using 18001 to Plusnet, Virgin Media in the past and it still free as long it under BT prefix 18001 with BT Line Rental as free of charge but not sure if your line rental is with other company such as Virgin Media, Sky, TalkTalk or Plusnet might charge you for this!

Thank you for that. I am just passing on what my friends has told me. They are on Plusnet call plans (i.e. not via BT)
Are you on BT or Plusnet call plans?
Just need an confirmation from Plusnet...

I am on BT calling plan (Unlimited plan) as you better ask Plusnet to ensure the prefix number 18001 are free of charge but like Typetalk say you must check with your service provider to get it refunded if Plusnet still charged you for using 18001 (it shouldn't be because Plusnet and BT are the same group under BT)

Hi all,
The wholesale price has changed on these calls, which is why the sudden change though we're looking into why we're charging as a result - problem number 68281for those interested. We'll be refunding any costs incurred in full once we've found out what's going on and who's been affected.
We're really sorry to everyone that's been charged for these calls.

The cynic in me wonders if the changes were to stop your users benefiting from another telecoms provider via an Indirect Access Code...............

Not sure what you mean there, though it sounds like you might mean a carrier pre-select? Either way I can assure you that's not the case.

Carrier Pre-Select and Indirect Access are two different things.
CPS means all calls get routed via a certain provider, rather than indirect access where you dial a shortcode to route via a specific provider (https://www.btwholesale.com/pages/static/Products/Interconnect/Access_Indirect.html)
