Can I change line rental without broadband

I was thinking about changing my line rental over from BT to Primus as its alot cheaper but was wondering if this will affect my plusnet broadband in anyway? Would this be classed as a disconnection or termination and hence be charged? Im only a few months into my plusnet broadband contract.

Any advice appreciated

Unless you are getting your line rental from Plusnet, which you say you are not, it should be completely irrelevant and not affect your broadband in any way - I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for help! All i got from plusnet customer services was basically " Not sure contact primus"

That's because IIRC at one time someone took a new line from Primus then wanted to order broadband from somewhere else and Primus didn't allow it. That was years ago though and I've never heard of anyone having a problem moving the phone to them when they already had another broadband.

The reply there seems odd, "sad to see you leave" - leave what? The line rental was with BT, not Plusnet and Broadband would still be with Plusnet!

It's still an emotional time.
