I am having problems with my broadband. The connection drops every night at least once. This might not be much of a problem but I lose the 5.5Mb to 6Mb that I used to get and I am have to settle with 3-4Mb on a 9dB margin to get a stable connection.
I have raised faults and an engineer has attended my house, but when he fixed a short in the line it helped for about a day and then the disconnections started again. I really am frustrated with this and I really would like an answer.

What times? It may be the issue has been there since last winter, but with earlier sunset it is more obvious.
ADSL experiences more noise once the sun has set, in the same way that AM radio gets worse at night

What times?
Between 7-10PM. This never used to happen even in the winter. I could stay connected on a 6dB margin but I now need to be on a 9dB margin to hold a connection. Plusnet aren't helping much.

Have you bought or replaced anything electrical or electronic since it was OK? New phones, Sky box, fridge, central heating boiler etc. Rowing machine even, or next door got a cycling machine?

Is your router one which is supported by RouterStats? If so you might identify a particular time at which the margin drops and hopefully associate it with something being turned on.

My DGN2000 does support RouterStats. I have been monitoring it for a while but when the line disconnects it doesn't relate to anything being turned on.

Are you seeing any other significant drops in the noise margin which don't cause disconnects?

Hi there,
If you could post a ticket ID we'd be happy to take a look and see if we can help this along for you?

I don't have a ticket open, but my username is sjrinfroyle and I am sure you know me Matt .
This is still happening and raising faults isn't helping. The connection has disconnected several times tonight.
